Well, the title says it all. Hopefully you'll be able to realize the sarcasm behind that.
This weekend is Memorial Day. Haven't blogged in awhile simply due to "end-of-the-school-year" craziness. Grad school is on hold until June 2nd, but the break has caused me to stop pushing myself to continue to run. This past week, work and home life were exhausting. I'd wake up early to go out, only to find one of several reasons to get back in bed (like... too cold, too dark, sounds like it's raining, I can go after work, basically anything and everything would do at that particular moment - 4:40am)
I ran 14 miles this morning with the group. I'd have to say I finally kept up with majority of the group for the first 4 miles. Then it seemed as everyone went different directions. It's hard to run such a long distance without preparing for it during the week. I think my toenails are currently too long, right now they hurt and feel like they're ready to fall off! Race day is 4 weeks away... next week is the big 20 mile run.
As for Memorial Day, while 99% of America attends a BBQ (sidenote: this year many will attend BBQ's locally due to the rising gas price... I paid $4.01 for the first time today) I'll be stuffing and addressing wedding invitations for my sisters wedding. At least I'll have the opportunity to get started on my own and set up my own system. Then, while Scott cruises around town with his boys, I look forward to figuring out a way to make my evening somewhat enjoyable. Which sucks, because there is never anything real fun to do in Columbia. It'll be nice to have Monday off.
