EOY

We are four days to the end of the school year and I don’t even know if I can make it! When the year started, our official end date was today. We had 3 snow days and took off for the Inauguration – which put us in school until June 18. Then, for some absolutely redicilous reason, they’ve decided to keep school open on the 19^th and staff are supposed to come in to work. ARE YOU KIDDING?! When the last kid is out – I’m out! I took off on the 19^th because there will be nothing for me to do. I’m so ahead on all of my paperwork that it’s a wonderful feeling.

 

June 30^th we return back to school for the summer program. I think this is the last year the summer program will be optional. I mean, in one way – it makes sense. When you’re hired, it’s explained that this is an 11 month school – if you don’t want to work the summer – then go work somewhere else. But on the other hand, some of us need that break OR have to do internships and during the summer and it’s a lot easier then missing an entire semester at your job.

 

Regardless, I’m ready for that break. It can’t come fast enough. Plus – once we are out… my availability to look for a house will be much better! Did I mention that I’m trying to buy a house this summer? Woo hoo! I can’t wait…
