Looking through saran wrap
A few weeks ago, I had realized my vision was changing. It wasn't gradual. I woke up one morning and just had the worst time seeing. Everything was blurry. Not massively blurry, but the more I used my eyes at work, the worse it got. Naturally, it had been SO long since my last trip, that my doctor didn't take my newer insurance, so I had to find a new one. The search wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I've worn bifocals since 2000. Thankfully, they make bifocal contacts now, so no one really even knows. I leave work early last Friday and head to the docs. Just like everyone else that learns I have bifocals he says "are you sure...? you are really young..." well, my family has bad eyes. That's all I have to say. He pulls up the list of letters and asks me to read. GOOD LORD - I wasn't going any further then the second line. WOW! After the drops and tests and close and far, it was determined that yes, in fact I do need to wear bifocals. However, my astigmatism has gotten much worse due to bifocal contacts not having the component to correct it. (Why didn't anyone tell me this before!? I would have worn my glasses occasionally for relief...) He proceeds to tell me that I can try the one and only brand that is bifocal and contains astigmatism correction OR get a new perscription in my typical contacts and try it - if it didn't work, then I'd need regular contacts and reading glasses. READING GLASSES?!?! NO WAY! I told him to not mention that again till after I turn 30. I can't imagine reading glasses with contacts at 26. Needless to say, I ordered new contacts in my same bifocal brand. They came yesterday, and don't do a thing. So, I'll try the other brand, hopefully they will work or I'm doomed for glasses for ever. Life will go on...
