I woke up, got dressed and was out by 5:11. That has got to be a record for me, especially since I had to dress in head to toe gear. I ran my fastest avg/mile yet - 11:02. WOW! I was excited. This is the first time I've gone to work happy in a long time. Not to mention, being a teacher, it's nice to know I have a 4 day break ahead of me after today. (the kids leave school at 12:30 every Wednesday at our school). Today I got to school around 7:30 to see one of my students there early. Apparently due to a power outage, she missed the bus. I was actually happy to see her. I brought the kids a special treat today, since it was a special day - a Baltimore original - Berger Cookies. My assistant, Megan, and I had been telling the kids about them a few weeks ago. Since it was the day before a break, I brought the cookies in for the group, but made sure to only give them half - they are loaded with chocolate frosting! They loved them.
I left work aT 1:15 and went to the Y with Scott. We joined the Y this summer. I am a member of Columbia Association for free because I work for them part time, but I really like the Y a lot . It's closer to home and has everything I need. It's mostly brand new. Plus, I can use any Y in the US without paying for a certain time, then I only need to pay $7 per visit after my time is up. This is a total first - working out twice in one day! Something I really don't want to make a habit of, but I'm going to admit - I want to EAT tomorrow. That's right, E-A-T.
Since we're on that topic, I might as well re-address my anxiety about the holiday tomorrow. After a short panic attack over the last few days about sleeping arrangements (long story short - everyone in my house (visiting and living) had a bed to sleep in for Thursday night -- except me. I threw a fit - because hey, I still live there, aren't they all guests?! But then my mom heard me out and understood where I was coming from. We re-arranged everything, and yes, I still don't have a bed for Thursday night, but I'm much more content now that things are a way I like and feel comfortable with. I felt SO much better.
So, now it is 10pm. Scott and I went out for a few drinks and now I'm making my contribution for tomorrow. My mom has NEVER made Thanksgiving Dinner. She and my dad have been married for 42 years and she has never hosted/cooked a Thanksgiving dinner. She announced she wouldn't make the "whole spread" because she wasn't going to cook that much. Therefore, my sister is bringing a pumpkin cheese cake and I am cooking mashed sweet potatoes and stuffing over Scott's while we watch football. Dinner is at 5:30 and I think I'm actually excited. I am. I'm excited to be making a dish, because this time last year - I wouldn't have even attempted cooking. Plus, for the last 4 years, I have celebrated Thanksgiving with Scott's family while my parents and sister have gone to Pittsburgh to visit my brother and extended family. I'm excited to see my brother - and I'm excited to see his girls. (He has 3 year old twin girls) They are adorable.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It's sure to get interesting.

Awesome exercise day. Sounds like it would be a blast! Far from your last note on turkey day. Hope it was as good as you were hoping.
BTW, I saw you running up Dunloggin the other night -- Mon or Tues I think. Looking strong!
