Off to a good start

My weekends haven't been so good for eating. I love to eat out and I love to indulge. I'm talking BIG TIME.  This isn't good for a "formerly fat" past.  I did increase my amount of working out, which I think is why I gained 3 pounds instead of 5. But Needless to say, but last night, I was pretty bummed. However, I do it to myself. Today was going to be the start of a new week/month. My goal weight is 140 and that was reached in 2006. (I started at 180). I like to be a few pounds less so I can enjoy some goodies every now and then, but honestly, I haven't seen 139 since the middle of October. It's time to get my ass in gear. I woke up at 4:51. It is SO hard to get out of bed then. But, I did it. If I can keep making a habit of it, it'll stick, right?? So, I was outside by 5:08 and moving. Walking - not running - but they say, if you start off walking you'll perk up. It worked.

Monday runs are the hardest in the world after doing big miles on Saturdays. My legs weren't too happy with me today, but I pushed. 3.5 miles later, I was home and it was time to get ready for work. I felt good. Scratch that, GREAT. Took a shower, hopped on the scale and the numbers read 142.7. Hey! That's not bad! I've seen SO much worse on a Monday recently, that I was OK. After all, according to WW I can go within 2 pounds of my goal weight. I stayed within my point range today and I feel that if I have to report to you all - I won't skimp. I don't know how well or long that mind game will work, but I've been trying to think of a neat reward. Like, if I get up 3 days a week at 4:50 and run before work for a month, I can treat myself to something special. Now all I have to do is figure out what that treat will be!

Some nice miles especially after two long runs.

Like the reward idea -- just be sure it's not food!

I've been told over and over again that rewards (or leverage as it's called in Leanness Lifestyle) is a great way to get yourself to do what you want yourself to do - yaknowwhatImean? :)

sounds like you've got some good goals - so go out there and fulfill them!
